The views from straight in front of our kitchen window have recently been seriously blighted on a daily early morning basis by the sight of a man who switches his bedroom light on directly opposite then appears entirely naked preening himself for the day ahead in his unblinded window.

He clearly thinks other householders can't see into his continually unblinded window, that he is entitled to do as he pleases in his own home or simply enjoys the exhibition of it all.

Whatever his reasoning, we personally find the sight offensive, disrespectful and, in honesty, it has put us off many a bowl of Kelloggs.

At first, it irritated us and made us rather angry.

Not because we lack open mindedness, but rather because we felt it was our right not to be faced with this sight every morning and it made us feel extremely uncomfortable whenever the (unmissable) light went on opposite and we were sitting in our own kitchen.

But we soon learned that was just an expenditure of energy on something entirely unworthwhile, when there were so many important things to focus our minds on.

We concluded that perhaps some passers by might enjoy the "spectacle", but that it simply wasn't our cup of tea as the people we are.

We also determined that if his own life partner had no problem with his "repeat performances", then who were we to argue?! 😂

So, as time went by, we adjusted to just ignore and if necessary laugh at it.

Because it certainly wasn't worth the stress of us invoking valuable Police resources on something so comparatively insignificant, or entering a protracted dispute that placed the person in question at the centre of attention he patently craved for.

And if he wasn't savvy enough to take the hint of all 6 sets of upstairs curtains opposite him now being constantly closed, we would all be banging our heads against the proverbial brick wall, to be honest 🤔😲😆😆

On the contrary, we concluded that his preening demonstrations served as a daily reminder to us of how fortunate we are to have each other on a basis that fully satisfied our emotional needs 😎 👍.

We now simply reference him as "Daddy Pig at the window again" whenever the light goes on, given his remarkable bodily resemblance to one of Her Majesty the Baby's favourite characters from the hit cartoon series Peppa Pig!

And naturally, we are investing in a set of kitchen blinds 😁😆😂.

People can be the most unusual of creatures, but just because a particular event or action is not up our street (albeit this was one was, literally 😁😆), doesn't make it wrong, legally or otherwise.

So any self imposed anxiety we allow ourselves to suffer is an utterly pointless creation of negativity and waste of energy.

The deployment of more laid back and less emotive reasoning patterns such as those above to a potentially stressful situation can help create a full context for equally reasoned decision making.
